SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Fellow 14's Brother In Need of Help!
Miguel "Tuna" Udan of Ladder 14 A shift was completely flooded out from the storms last week in his Martinsville, In home. Tuna left the firehouse to find IFD 7s Water Rescue Team enroute to his address for his wife and child, due to rapid rising water at his residence. Thankfully his family is safe but they lost everything. A total rebuild of his home and belongings are slowly underway, but it can not be done with out alot of help. Members of Station 14 are currently taking donations at Station 14 to help our Brother rebuild. A Credit Union account will be set up soon. Future fund raising gatherings are also in the works, with the proceeds to benefit the Tuna Flood Relief Fund, please stay tuned for those details, participation from all is a must. Contact Firefighter Todd Wilson for more details and how you can help Tuna at W9162@indygov.org
Remember he LOST EVERYTHING, Please Help!
PUBLIC MESSAGE: DO NOT DRIVE INTO FLOODED AREAS!!
It has been an on going problem, during this rain season, so far that Indy Motorists are driving into flooded roadways and becoming stranded. When you get stranded in any type of water, the Dive Team gets called out. This does 2 things; puts us out of service for a Real Dive Run and it puts our Firefighters at risk responding to an incident that we shouldn't have been called out for in the first place, so PLEASE, Stay out of the flooded areas!
Dangers about Flooded Areas
You never know whats under the water such as Drains, Open Manhole covers and intanglement hazards that may cause serious injury or even drowning death while walking in it.
Swift water can sweep you off your feet and carry you long distances.
Entrapment hazards such as the force of the water pinning you into a stationary object causing serious injury or even drowning death.
Never walk into flooded water, never drive into flooded waters and always remeber the force of the water will win EVERY time.
Please check your Fire Extinguishers and Smoke Detectors regularly, and always wear your Seat Belt!

NEVER FORGET - HUG A FIREMAN EVERY DAY

Contrary to everyones opinion on you tube, Water was not being thrown due to Firefighters still inside trying to make an attack on the 3rd floor. You can see flashlights working on the second floor, we will not set up master streams until everyone is out. 14's Engine and Ladder, 5's Engine and 22's Truck and Engine crew were making an agressive attack and search efforts when the Chief ordered everyone out due to structural collapse on the 3rd floor. The Apartment was cut up inside with nothing but stud walls on each floor. (kind of like FD Training Network, without the wires) This fire is still under investigation and was determined to be set in several locations. Crews were pulled out and defensive attack was successful, no injuries on this fire.

TSU TED shows great bottle changing skills, way to go LT!!!!
