The above picture is a Static Line, Movable Control Point. This week all of the IFD Water teams are setting up this system for training purposes at Lake Indy. The Movable Control Point is used on a swift water rescue situation and can be set up by 1 tactical water team. (not counting downstream safety teams) All Water stations, 14, 7 and 6 are proficient in this system set up.
If your water team would like to train on this type of system, call the Dive Office at 317-327-6041 and set up a traioning time and date with Cpt. Strohacker - IFD Dive Team Commander. You provide the equipment, we will provide the training. (Basic swift water certified personnel and shore support only please)
Divers search White River from a boat based operation - static line system

Divers recover a body from Fall Creek - death still under investigation
The 14s Divers check out the new system from Interspiro 08-30-07. A light weight pack with surface supplied air. A pesperate weighting system attaches to the back of the pack in between the 2 bottles, with a cotter pin release system. This unit can be surface supplied air with larger bottles and/or compressor or use a smaller bottle system as regular scuba. This will eliminate the pony bottle system from what we dive with now. The 1st stage regulators will also be at the bottom of the pack instead of being on top by the divers head. Rescue Divers over seas have been diving with this system for 10+ years.
